sis is gettin' hitched.

Well my sister, Lauren, is tying the knot! I couldn't be more excited for her and about the man she's chosen to marry. They're simple great for each other - and in the most peculiar, loving ways.

Lauren is such a unique person and has always had her own sense of style. I used to steal everything out of her closet :) (sorry Lauren, I realize this is annoying now that I'm older). It is no surprise that she's going to have an elegant, personal wedding outside in a beautiful garden in Cape Cod. I know, how amazing does that sound!?

The wedding isn't until September and my goal is to make sure she has awesome showers, a great bachlorette party, and great memories to live by. First up - the shower in Boston.

Since I don't live there and have only visited one, her friends that live there have been absolutely amazing at picking out the restaurant to host the party. Introducing Ashmont Grill:

Of course, it's bigger than this, but looks cozy, warm, and a great place to enjoy an afternoon with a few ladies. I can't wait! I just completed the favors:

Up next is the shower in St. Louis with our side of the family, but I'm only going to show you a sneak peek of what is to come. Check out the cool things I'm using to help decorate this white and gray themed party!

Cool favor bags for white meringue cookies!

White paper cones for treats. Thinking about a mixer of honey nuts set in a galvanized tin with shredded kraft paper.

Little chevron tags to label the food spread!

More pictures to come soon after the event. Can't wait to share more.

Lots of love!

oy. how to blog.

i've been meaning to learn how to blog. i secretly read tons of blogs and dream of being those writers some day. do you ever have blog envy and know what i'm talking about?

well... today is the day. my blog is ugly and i wouldn't dare send it to anyone yet until it is far more sophisticated, but i have to start somewhere, right?! i've wondered many times in my life if i actually have an interesting enough life to write about. something in my life now urges me to share what i'm going through because i feel many women will relate. i have a very professional career in corporate america right now. i am married to a wonderful man. i have fabulous friends and family. but... am i ready to have my own children? do others even give this major milestone in their lives much thought?

i do. i feel torn on how i will balance both work and motherhood. i want to be the heart of the home but fear i don't haveenough time to do it properly for my own family. but truth be told, i LOVE staying at home and doing domestic things to a perfection. is it possible to work and be the best homemaker on earth? what's a girl to do in this pickle? are you readers ready to help sort through it all with me?! share your thoughts and i'll be back soon! i might even make things look a little prettier around here :)
